The Church

The present church dates largely from the 1820s, but the tower is 14th century.It also has the remains of a notable rood loft. In the churchyard can be found the grave of Samuel Carrington, the 19th century antiquarian who first explored “Thor’s Cave” which lies within the parish.
 
Parish Records
Historic records of St Margaret, Wetton have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These include the parish registers of baptisms 1657-1872, marriages 1657-2004 and burials 1657-1992.
