St. Luke's, Onecote The Church
The first church on this site was built in 1754 and, though rebuilt in 1837 with additions in 1907, some interesting 18th century features remain inside, including the original boards showing the 10 Commandments and the Royal Arms. The church also contains some important 19th cent. “Arts and Crafts” stained glass which was originally from the vicarage. Parish Records Historic records of St Luke, Onecote have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These include the parish registers of baptisms 1755-1998, marriages 1863-1982 and burials 1755-1995. A catalogue of these records is available in "Gateway to the Past" (http://www.archives.staffordshire.gov.uk) - the online catalogue of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service. The Archive Service's website (http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/archives) provides further information on planning a visit to the office to consult records, should you wish to do so. Service Times
