The Church
Built in 1845-9, replacing a much simpler earlier building. From the earlier church there survives a Norman font with a wavy ornamental band and two stone coffins. There are fragments of mediaeval glass in the porch. Registers date back to 1679.
The church contains a memorial to R.A.F. personnel killed in a plane crash in 1947 while trying to supply food to local communities cut off by snow.
Parish Records
Historic records of All Saints, Grindon have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These include the parish registers of baptisms 1697-2007, marriages 1697-2002 and burials 1697-1992.
A catalogue of these records is available in "Gateway to the Past" (http://www.archives.staffordshire.gov.uk) - the online catalogue of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service. The Archive Service's website (http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/archives) provides further information on planning a visit to the office to consult records, should you wish to do so.
