St. John the Baptist, Elkstones

The Church

A chapel of ease to Alstonefield and later to Warslow, the present church was built in1785 replacing an earlier building about which little is known and is a rare, virtually unchanged example of a Moorlands church of that time.

Parish Records

Historic records of St John the Baptist, Elkstones have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These include the parish registers of baptisms 1813-1929 and burials 1813-1991.
