St. Mary's, Calton
The Church
The building dates from 1839 and is decorated in the style of the Anglo-Catholic revival. There was however a church on the site from the 16th century and the present church retains some ornate Jacobean altar rails.
Parish Records
Historic records of St Mary, Calton have been deposited at Staffordshire Record Office, where they are available for consultation by the public. These include the parish registers of baptisms 1760-1792, 1813-1915, marriages 1903-1982 and burials 1907-1992.
